When you use leverage properly, you harness the strength of ten. Consider the company that aimed to produce millions of masks during COVID—they created an instructional video to guide people through the process.

“Stories have the power to turn any audience into a roomful of teachers.”

Stories are the most effective way to transform an audience into teachers. First teach people, then have them demonstrate by teaching in front of you. This ensures your messaging remains consistent. Remember to keep it “Sesame Street Simple.” Make your instructions easy to understand and difficult to misinterpret.

“If you try to teach people everything about everything, you run the risk of teaching them nothing. You will achieve more lasting results faster if you clearly identify—and then simplify—the most important messages you want to convey to others. These messages should not just be easy to understand but also hard to misunderstand.”
